Dr. Brian Eckert

Graduated from Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1980. Started his dental career  with a hospital residency in Sherbrooke, Quebec; then worked a couple of years in each of northern British Colombia, Malawi, Africa and Germany. Settled in Sudbury, where he had a successful practice for many years. Founding   member of CDRI. More recently worked in  the Micronesian island of Saipan for 4  years and is now working as a locum dentist  in the Ottawa region, including hospital based clinics for medically compromised children and adults. 


Dr. Rolf Kreher

Graduated from Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1980. He interned at Toronto General Hospital and then worked a mobile clinic in isolated communities in Northern British Columbia for three years. Owns and operates  a dental practice in Toronto since 1985, and is  founding member and volunteer with CDRI in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Dominican Republic among others. Has worked as ship's dentist on cruise boats and has a great love of the outdoors. He is also a clinical demonstrator/treatment coordinator at the Faculty of Dentistry University of Toronto since 2004.

Dr. Ramon Humeres

Came from Chile at the age of 17. Graduated from Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1980. Had his own practice for seven years. In 1987 he took two years off to live in a sail boat in the Caribbean. He opened a successful second clinic in Toronto in 1990. Founding member and volunteer with CDRI in Ecuador, Guatemala and Dominican Republic among others. Obtained an Honours Science Bachelor degree in Archaeology in 2011, one of his passions.


Dr. Matthew Kreher

Graduated from Western University in 2016. He has volunteered with CDRI on outreach projects since 2014. He completed a Fellowship in Dental Oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where he provides care for cancer patients as a Staff Dentist.
He is a University of Toronto Status Only Instructor, teaching fourth year dental students on rotation at the hospital. He volunteers with the Restoring Smiles program to provide dental care  to victims of domestic abuse. He loves to travel, run with the family dog, Simba and is an avid learner.

Dr. Frank Yung(1954-2013)

Born in Hong Kong. Dr. Yung came to Toronto as a teenager. Graduated as a dentist with honours from University of Toronto in 1980. Practiced in Sault Sainte Marie for a year and later set-up his own successful clinic in Toronto. Was a founding member of CDRI. Obtained a Master degree in dental lasers in Germany.   
Sadly, Dr. Yung passed away in 2013 and he is greatly missed by family, friends and patients.
